Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus – THE Risen Saviour! What a day the Lord has given to us…and there has to be something that He has placed in this day for us to enjoy and to praise Him for…so we need to keep alert and look for what is there for us to experience. For those who pay attention to fashion trends…it seems that “gray” is the colour of mid-winter! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to speak words of encouragement and strength over you – and to make you aware of His presence in your circumstance…may He give you ears to hear and eyes to see.
Yesterday I was sending an email of encouragement to a friend and God directed me to a scripture passage and then this morning He sent “me” those words in my daily devotional calendar. So, to quote a wise and wonderful woman…if God is trying to tell me something, then He is probably trying to tell those around me the same thing. Here is the passage: “Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t even remember these former things. I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert. – Isaiah 43:18-19 TPT.
I think that far too often when we are expecting God to “move” in our midst, we are expecting Him to stay within the box that we are comfortable with…maybe dress it up a little, adjust the lighting, change the colour scheme – but keep it the same shape so we’ll recognise it. However, the prophetic words that I hear from such a variety of sources are suggesting that isn’t what God is planning. There are five key words that I keep hearing: Transition – God wants to move us from where we are to someplace else; Transformation – God wants to make some significant changes within us; Power of Story – God wants us to share the story of what He is doing right now in our lives; Suddenly – God is getting ready to make the transition and transformation soon and suddenly; Settledness – God wants us to settle in His Word, in our prayer life, in our relationships, and in our church attendance.
There has been a song we have sung recently in our worship times that reflects what I am sensing in my spirit: I can hear the thunder in the distance-Like a train on the edge of town-I can feel the brooding of the Spirit… Robin Mark. I like the word … “brooding” as it creates a picture in my mind of a mother hen on her nest of eggs…protecting, keeping warm the eggs, waiting with expectation – very serious anticipation. Of course, brooding precedes the hatching, which can be exciting and messy…’exciting and messy!”
Simply a few thoughts for you to ponder!
