A Church with a Heart for our Community

February 4th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What an interesting day in the Kingdom…a day that has been designed and created for us by God! Yes! we will take some time to thoughtfully give Him our praise and thanksgiving for He Has done, is doing, and will do great things in ways that we have noticed.I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday. I pray that your are enjoying your week and discovering “delights” … little gifts from God that bring you a smile. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to meet your specific need in an unexpected way…and may He ‘lay His hand upon you!”

I have been reading about God’s blessings…what they are, how we get them, how we maximise them, how we ‘flip them, and how we receive the ‘double blessing’ that the prophetic voices are talking about. First of all, I have had it re-affirmed to em that: we are the apple of God’s eye…collectively and personally; we are the object of His affection; we are sought after. However, further to that I have found a few ‘new-to-me’ ideas: He is bragging about us behind our backs; He is interceding for us at the right hand of the Father; His goodness and mercy is still following us – now and forever; His faithfulness is unfailing; His kindness is unending; His love is unrelenting; He rejoice over us with singing. Wow! those are blessings from God that keep on giving!

The second thing that I discovered was the the blessing of Bethlehem, Calvary, and Pentecost. At Bethlehem God is with us. At Calvary God is for us. At Pentecost God is in us. Therefore, because of Bethlehem no matter what I am going through God is with me and I can handle it. And, because of Calvary, I can overcome every obstacle. And, because of Pentecost, nothing can stop me. God’s blessing is very practical.

Finally, the blessing of Aaron found in Numbers 6:24-26 – look it up – was to be spoken every day in a Jewish household for the children…imagine this – by the time a child was 13, which was the age when adulthood was to start, a Jewish child had heard God’s blessing some 4745 times. On a daily basis a Jewish person speaks at least 100 blessings. When, for example, a person would bless God for a glass of water – one gallon of water contains 90,921 drops and each drop contains 5 quintrillion atoms. What a lot of blessings! Now wonder the Psalmist says, I’ll bless you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity.  Psalm 145:2 The Message.

Just a little something to ponder — be blessed and then pass the blessing along – double the blessing!
