A Church with a Heart for our Community

February 23rd Tuesday

Greetings in the beautiful name of Jesus Christ – THE RISEN Saviour! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom…and we give thanks to God for creating this day to meet our needs. I trust that you had a great weekend and sensed God’s presence in a multitude of ways and through a unique assortment of people and in the midst of experiences. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release His strength and goodness.

Be still and know that I am God – Psalm 46:10 that wonderful verse was the text on my daily calendar and there was a phrase in the reading that made me stop and have a ‘ponder’ or two – “one of the greatest stresses in life is the stress of waiting for God’ – Oswald Chambers. I suppose that is why throughout the Bible – “waiting on God” is accompanied by words/phrases like: be strong or be patient or be courageous or be of good cheer or humble yourself. I guess that I had not expected to see it related to ‘one of the greatest stresses in life’.

As I considered that idea, God revealed to me another word that must go with “waiting” and that word is: TIMING. I have often said that I only have two problems with God: when I am in a hurry…He’s not, and when He’s in a hurry…I’m not. The word “time” and “times” appear over 750 times in the Bible and in fact “time” is central to two of my favourite Bible verses and one of my favourite passages: He has made everything beautiful in its time…Ecclesiastes 3:11a – But when the time arrived that was set by God the Father, God sent his Son…that he might redeem those of us who had been kidnapped by the law – Galatians 4:4 The Message  – the passage is Ecclesiastes 3:1-12 – There is a time for everything… .

“timing” plays a very important part in our relationship with God and learning to trust in Him. It is a fact, I believe, that if God gave / acted / intervened / responded – immediately to our every request, we would never grow and develop into the masterpiece that He desires to reveal His glory to this world. “Waiting on God” requires trusting in His timing.

Let me close with these words from the Psalmist: I’m desperate, Lord! I throw myself upon You, for You alone are my God! My entire life, my every moment, my destiny–it’s all in Your hands, so I know that You can deliver me…let Your shining face shine on me. Psalm 31:14 – 16a  TPT.

Think about His timing in your life – what if He had responded a moment to soon or too late?  –  Be blessed!
