Greetings to you in the wonderful, beautiful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Thanks be to God for this day that He has made…we will rejoice and be glad in it! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom! I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday with many blessings and special moments to enjoy what God has done and is doing in your life. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to surround you with the warmth of his presence…may He release healing and strength…may He provide peace and joy…may He encourage you through family and friends…may He speak to you through His Word.
I am once again enjoying the sights and sounds of the Advent season…having a few new Cd’s and a new Christmas devotional adds to the enjoyment. Each year it seems that God focuses my attention on some detail that I need to pay attention to. Perhaps it is because of the conditions in our world at this point, but I seem to hear the phrase…”don’t be afraid” – or “fear not”, spoken, sung, read, and proclaimed.
There are obvious reasons to entertain a sense of fear…we are in a pandemic, we face a sense of isolation, we deal with challenges to personal freedom, and we wonder about our future. I came across this list in a devotional:
“Fear of failure, Fear of Loss, Fear of missing out, Fear of the cost, Fear of change, Fear of doing it wrong, Fear of having the right help, Fear of getting the timing wrong, Fear of having the finances, Fear of never getting that Breakthrough, Fear of health challenges, Fear of rejection, Fear of being Alone”….these are just a few things I was hearing people are struggling with. I’m sure there is more, but these are just a few I heard. – Ana Werner
So, it seems to me that the message – “Fear not, for unto you is born a Saviour!” – is really ‘good news’ … God has given us all that we need at this moment in time — Jesus! Jesus is the answer that we are looking for to deal with the “hopes and fears” of 2020…and that is why Christmas is not ‘magical’! Christmas is supernatural!
Think about that for a moment or two…have a blessed day!
