Greetings to you in the name of the one who is preparing to invade our dimension once again, Jesus Christ – THE Crucified and Risen Saviour! Wow! another grey morning…but you and I don’t have to surrender to that. We can sing: This little light of mine – I’m going to let it shine! If all of his believers will ‘shine’ – our little corner of the world will be brighter. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to let His light shine through you – in your speech, your actions, your attitude, and your appearance.
I had the delight of attending a church-family Christmas dinner last night…and it was ‘mighty fine!’ The Psalmist was right: How good and how pleasant it is when brothers (and sisters) live (and eat) together in unity! …For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore. Psalm 133:1, 3b NIV. Many translations of verse 3b say the phrase should read: Yes, that’s where GOD commands the blessing, ordains eternal life. Psalm 133:3b The Message. I relish the thought that when God’s children get together and let go of the differences and find a point of harmony – GOD commands a blessing.
Small wonder that the Apostle Paul urges: “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:3 NIV – “but steadily pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.” Ephesians 4:3 The Message. I have heard of three different relationships where God is mending – repairing – healing … God is commanding a blessing of unity so that His glory can be revealed.
I received a “Call To Prayer” from a Canadian ministry and the opening paragraph says: “Across Canada, there has been a very marked increase in speedy answers to prayer. It’s as if we have come into a time of fulfilment. So if you have prayed for something for a long time but perhaps have recently lost heart and have stopped asking – it’s time to pray again! Pray for the broken relationships around you today – God wants to command a blessing! Pray for the unity of your family, church, friendships – God wants to command a blessing! Pray for the unity of your own body-mind-spirit – God wants to command a blessing!
