A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 19th Wednesday

Greetings to you – accepted, forgiven, and loved by Almighty God – in the beautiful, wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful late-summer morning in the Kingdom – do I hear a “Thank You, Father!”, as we rejoice and be glad in a day made for us? I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday-Tuesday with lots of talking points and reasons to be grateful. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to come alongside of you with compassion, healing, understanding, and provision. I am aware that there are specific needs and concerns for many of you…so this morning, by faith I lay my hand upon your head and release grace, mercy, and peace in the name of Jesus.

Yesterday was certainly an adventure…a computer that had to have a medical check-up (virus scan and a file clean-up and update), a kitchen drain problem, and a not fully functioning telephone service. However, praise be to God, everything got reconciled…eventually!  I am so grateful for the people that God used to help us…and for opportunities to share a quiet word of witness. Now I am wondering what today will hold?

I have been reading an interesting book called – The Wilderness…”where miracles are born” by Brain and Candice Simmons. At first glance I thought it would be an interesting and quick read but it has been serendipitous, with unexpected discoveries. I am now realizing the importance of the ‘wildernesses’ and learning that each one has a particular name that suits its location. God has been careful to validate the lessons with living examples and/or illustrations.

I was blessed with an opportunity to visit the wilderness of loneliness while visiting at the hospital…which is quite an experience. Anyway, I sat across the table from a dear saint and listened to her words and tuned into her heart. This time of isolation from family and friends – this time of hospital protocol – this time of dealing with her health … is her wilderness of loneliness. Even as I write this, I see her face and the look of quiet confidence as she says…”God is really with me! I couldn’t do this without Him! He is with me!”  Strange isn’t it – that In the wilderness of loneliness the miracle of Emmanuel – God with us – is manifested in ways that we can understand?

Something to think about – have a blessed day!
