A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 12th Friday

Greetings to you! May you be surrounded by the grace and peace that is given through the Name above all other names, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a beautiful late summer morning in the Kingdom and what a privilege to declare that “this is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that you have had a good week and that you have had your needs met in God’s own special way. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release an extra measure of health and strength and provision from his hand to yours!

Last Sunday I shared a verse of Scripture with the congregation and all this week it has been showing up and I thought that perhaps God wanted me to share it on the blog. The context is important, so I will simply say that this is Paul’s description of being powerful and effective in presenting the reality of our faith…being an “evangelist” if you will.

Here it is: So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you. Take your everyday, ordinary life–your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking around life–and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Romans 12:1 (The Message). Just imagine…”Without saying a word, you release God’s essence into the atmosphere around you, simply because He lives inside you. Eventually, others will recognize that you’re different.” – Brian Simmons & Gretchen Rodrigues, Divine Romance.

Even as I write this, a recollection comes to mind – St. Francis of Assisi is said to have told his followers to go into the towns and villages to preach the Gospel and if they had to…use words! I suppose that is like saying that people don’t pay attention to our words because the are too busy reading our actions and attitudes and reactions.

Don’t just share the faith…live the faith – someone is watching!  Something to ponder – be blessed!
