A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 11th Friday

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Wow! Another interesting summer’s day that God has creatively designed for us…thank You Lord! I trust that you have had a great week in the Kingdom – lots of adventures and opportunities to see God at work in your life. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to release a fresh supply of energy, courage, understanding and grace to you.

It is new release Friday and there is a good album from a group called ‘Jesus Culture’ – Love Has A Name. The first song is an upbeat tune with interesting words. The song – ‘Halls of Heaven’ – has a great chorus that captures the excitement of a child being in heaven…it goes like this: Like a child we come running – Through the halls of heaven – To the Holy of Holies – Doors are flung wide open – Joy is overflowing – In the halls of Heaven – We come running – We come running – Through the halls of heaven!

How can one sing about running through the halls of heaven…it is in the title of the album…Love Has A Name, and. of course, that name is Jesus! ‘Jesus’ is the name that grants us access to the halls of heaven…a place of joy with no barriers, no hindrances, no limitations. I was directed to a portion of Scripture: Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess [as we run through the halls of heaven] that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory [delight] of God the Father.  Philippians 2:9-11 NIV … bracketed words are personal.

Think for a moment or two…the name above every name – above the name cancer and heart disease and diabetes and kidney disease and arthritis and cataracts and broken homes and poverty and violence and crimes and…you get the idea – Jesus is above every name. It gets even better – those names will have to bow before the name of Jesus in surrender and defeat. Indeed, it is enough to make ‘salty saints’ run through the halls of heaven like children. Get your running shoes ready!

Have a blessed weekend!
