A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 8th Friday

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another interesting Spring day, we seem to get a good mixture of everything so that if we don’t like what is happening – weatherwise – we wait until something better comes along. I trust that you have had a grand week with a good mixture of blessings, challenges, adventures and delights…along with the less desirable ingredients. I hope you are looking forward to this weekend’s worship gatherings at your church home. We are in a period of time when God is teaching and revealing things we need to know about Jesus and resurrection life – between Easter Sunday and Pentecost Sunday. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to reveal a new understanding and dimension to your spiritual life.

I am going to share a “youtube” link on the email page. It will feature a young musician singing one of my special songs. A few weeks ago I had a dream/vision that I was being held captive and I couldn’t understand why no one could or would release me. I now understand that there are times when there is only One power that can help…others can pray, must pray to draw the attention of the “Chain-breaker”.

Today I am pondering anew the joy of “being alive”. I was reminded this week by an article in the newspaper of how tenuous my health situation was…and I am declaring that God has a purpose for me. Last Monday at prayer time someone quoted the verse from Philippians 1:6 where Paul says that he is confident that when God begins to work in someone’s life – He will finish what he is doing. I know that we usually equate that promise with the spiritual dimension but what if it has another facet. Perhaps Paul is saying that once God begins to heal, he carries it through to completion or once He begins to prepare someone for ministry he carries it through or once He begins to prosper he does it thoroughly…until the person says “please stop, I cannot take any more.”

I have been looking over all the intricacies of God’s working with me and in me and around me since January 15th and He has never let up. Every step of my journey has fitted into a great scheme of timing and people and circumstances. Oh yes! He who began a good work is still on the job. It would seem that that is all is needed…God at work, doing His thing but later my friend Paul says…’work out what God has done in your life…since He blessed you there must be a purpose, so find it – live it out – be responsible! We become key parts of God’s ongoing program in this world…we have purpose!

Something to think about…blessings on you!
