A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 7th Friday

Greetings to you in the name of the One we call the ‘Prince of Peace’, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a way to start a morning – someone left the ‘air conditioner’ on overnight! However, a little birdie told me that spring is on the way – and I will wait with a good spirit! I trust that you had a good week and are ready for the weekend with all of its possibilities and adventures. Today I will be praying for, asking Father to surround you with a peace that passes all understanding, a joy that is unspeakable, a love that stretches in all directions, and a hope that is fully alive.

I have been pondering ideas and verses and song lyrics that highlight the name – Jesus! I sense that there are times when we take that name, use that name, speak that name … far too casually and without much thought. The name of Jesus is central to our faith…and this week – from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday…the name of Jesus takes on a powerful and transformative energy.

His name is the guarantee for the promises of God. His name is a sure foundation – unshakeable. His name is synonymous with new beginnings and new days and new hopes and new opportunities. His name is the light of the world. His name is the door to eternity. His name is a healing balm. His name is the assurance of God’s love. His name is salvation. His name can lift your head, your heart, your spirit. His name provides blessing and anointing. His name gives access into the Holy of Holies. His name is everything and more. His name keeps us moving forward in our journey of faith. His name was there at the beginning – is there in the middle – will be there at the end. His name draws us together as a unique family.

According to Acts 4:12 … Salvation {total wholeness} is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved {brought into total wholeness}.  Only one name: Jesus.

Have a blessed weekend!
