Greetings to you in the name of the Troubadour of Heaven, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! First – Happy April to you! What a lovely day in the Kingdom with April showers and everything else…this is the day that the Lord has made for us and we will praise him. I trust that you had a good weekend and the last few days – wow! it is almost a week since I last wrote to you, life goes too fast…60 seconds a minute and 60 minutes an hour, can you believe it? Throw in a doctor’s appointment and a visit to the computer hospital and putting together ideas for Easter weekend – it’s going too fast. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release health and strength and a happy heart to you.
We watched the Academy of Country Music Awards last Sunday and enjoyed it very much. It was amazing the number of performers who acknowledged their faith in God and the themes of faith in songs. We were blessed by a performance by Reba McEntire and Lauren Daigle. They sang a song called – “Back To God” that included a powerful chorus: You gotta get down on your knees, believe – Fold your hands and beg and plead – Gotta keep on praying – You gotta cry, rain tears of pain – Pound the floor and scream His name – ‘Cause we’re still worth saving – Can’t go on and live like this – We can’t love like this – We gotta give this world back to God.
Yes, we need to get desperate for God’s help in this mixed-up and conflicted world of ours. We see the faces and bodies of innocent victims all around the world and in our own backyards…we need to cry out to God. We need – Hebrews 6:19 …an anchor for our soul…and a few more lines from the song – We can’t love like this – You can hope the best – Make a wish – The only answer is – We give this world back to God.
My devotion says: Our relationship with Jesus takes us straight out of this natural world and directly into the eternal realm of the presence of God. If we genuinely believe that his name (Jesus) is higher, that his word is greater, and that his power makes all things possible, then our anchor will keep us secure no matter how much the storms of life rage around us. Brian Houston. Yes, let us give our world and ourselves…back to God.
Have a blessed day!
