A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 2nd Thursday

Greetings to you in the powerful, wonderful, and beautiful name of Jesus Chris – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful day in the kingdom! – that sunshine is so welcome and lifts our spirit…and might entice us to venture outside for a little walk. Once again let me declare that…this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice…along with you and be glad in it. This is especially true in our home because we are celebrating our 26th anniversary – and we are grateful to God for his goodness and abundant blessings…I think we will probably stay ‘in’ as we celebrate. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to reveal his presence to you in such a way that you will be filled with hope, joy, and expectation.

Our congregation has a unique relationship with God’s Word, in that He seems to give us passages of scripture to hang onto at particular times. One of the verses is Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you…” Then there is Psalm 46:10 – “Be still and know that I am God…” Of course, there is Psalm 118:24 – “This is the day that the Lord has made…” And then there is 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people who are called by my name…” All these verses have significance because of who introduced them at a specific season that had manifested itself.

So, as we navigate through this season it seems we have been given a Scripture to hold onto. It was introduced at a Monday prayer time a few weeks ago and then in a Sunday service and then at a Thursday worship gathering and then again at various points. Therefore I am declaring that Psalm 91 is a scripture that God has given to our congregation for this season. I am suggesting that you take time to read Psalm 91 on a regular basis…it is for us! In the very first verse it says…Whoever dwell in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Yesterday I received a devotional commentary page on Psalm 91 and it translated that verse as saying that ‘the shadow’ means “the force field of God’s presence” – the force field of the Almighty is unmatched.

Just imagine, in these times of living in isolation and feeling a little lost…we are in fact dwelling in the shelter of the Most High and therefore resting in the force field of the Almighty…sounds like a “Star Wars” concept.

A little something to consider – be blessed!
