Greetings to you in the name of “Heaven’s Champion”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! At this moment I am not sure what kind of weather is going to be part of this day, but this I do know…”This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and enjoy it!” I trust that you had a good week and are excited about the weekend with all of its unknown blessings and adventures. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release the joy of His presence within you like a bubbling spring of crystal clear water.
Tonight at sunset the Jewish festival of Passover begins with a family dinner where all in attendance will be reminded of their history with God. They will remember the ways that God lead them out of captivity in Egypt – through the Red Sea – through the years in the wilderness – into the Promised Land. As you probably know, everything they do is for a purpose and tells a beautiful story
One of the activities that caught my attention this week was a news report that showed an Israeli woman cleaning her house, especially the kitchen, in preparation for Passover. She was carefully dusting and seeking for any traces of yeast and flour that would make the food she prepared unclean. There was to be no contamination of past ingredients that might cause God to look the other way.
I thought to myself…how much care do I take as I prepare to entertain God’s presence? Do I “dust off” the attitudes and bitterness and frustration and impatience and doubt…so that my mind is clean? Do I seek out the remnants of things done and said that have taken refuge in the dark corners of my being…so that my hands and my lips are clean? For those of the Jewish faith this cleaning takes place once a year, but for me this is supposed to be a daily discipline. Remember the words of the Psalmist…Who then, dares to climb up into the presence of the Lord? And who has the right to enter into the holy place where He dwells? It will be those who are clean, and whose works and ways are pure; whose hearts are true and who are sealed in truth, those who never deceive, and whose words are sure. Those who live like this will receive the Lord’s blessings, and the righteousness given by the Saviour-God. They are the very ones who will stand before God, for they seek the pleasure of Jacob’s God by seeking His face. Psalm 24:3-6 TPT.
The Jewish people needed, need, the blood of the Passover Lamb…and I need the blood of the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world. I need that experience every time I am aware of my sin and failure. Praise God that it is available, not just once a year but every day! How blessed I am!
Have a great weekend…be blessed!
