A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 17th Friday

Greetings to you in the beautiful, wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! On days like this, when the sun does not shine brightly it is vitally important to rejoice that God has given you another day and give thanks for all that He has given you…it will make a difference. I trust that you have had a good week with a basket-full of blessings and surprises to recall with thanksgiving. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a peace that does not make sense and a hope that inspires your level of expectation and a joy that makes you smile for no reason at all.

This morning I am drawn to a portion of Scripture that needs to be considered in these ‘unprecedented days’ of world-wide confusion. I am reading words that say…the entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters! For against its will the universe itself has had to endure the empty futility resulting from the consequences of human sin. But now, with eager expectation, all creation longs for freedom from its slavery to decay… – Romans 8:19-21a  TPT.

We don’t often think of the affect of human beings upon the universe…the pollution, the destruction of natural resources, the depletion of ozone layers, and impact on animal life…in the context of the corona-virus. However this “rest period” the world has been in has had a profound affect on air and water pollution and ozone layers and even the depletion of natural resources like oil/gas supplies. It seems like God really means it when He talks about revival will bring healing for the land…and that the fact that He works all things for good has more implications than we realize.

In one of my morning devotions I read this: Let your heart break over the condition of the world, but always remember, you are on the winning side,. So stand strong, pray hard, and worship loud! — O Jesus, break my heart for what breaks Your! May revival  sweep this land and hearts be turned to the only One who can make them whole. – Charles Billingsley, Words On Worship.

A little something to ponder – have a blessed day – find a way to bless someone else!
