A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 12th Tuesday

Greetings in the name of the One who brings words of assurance, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday – even though we haven’t experienced the best early Spring weather – yet !  However, did you experience God’s presence each day? Did He bring peace, hope, and joy? Did He “quiet you with His love and rejoice over you with singing”? Let me share a simple praise chorus from Africa: What can I say, I have been seen by Your eyes…What can I say, I have been heard by Your ears…What can I say, I have been touched by Your hands…What can I say, I have been captured by Your love! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to awaken your soul to the passion of His heart.

A week ago God seemed to be directing my attention to His desire to ‘burst into our lives’ with a outpouring of His presence. All week that thought pursued me and on Sunday gave me a verse…that I should have read on Wednesday but I did not turn my daily calendar over for a few days. However, the verse says this: I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water – Isaiah 41:18. I take that to mean that on good days and not so good days – He is at work…in the wilderness days that are a jumble of life and I feel threatened – He is at work…and in the dry days when I feel exhausted and depleted – He is at work. In all places and times and events – He is bursting forth with sudden outpourings of His presence.

So today, God gives me a quote to reassure me: when the Spirit of God comes upon (burst forth like a flood) people, they do extraordinary things in His Name. The Spirit of God coming upon a group of people automatically charges the atmosphere – Bill Johnson. I am believing that God is preparing to “burst forth” into our mountain tops and valleys and wildernesses and desert places. I am believing that God is going to release a “flood of divine power” into the church, with all of her mountain tops and valleys and wildernesses and deserts.

Even as I write this I can “see” in my spirit a worship gathering where the same old-same old is taking place when God suddenly “bursts forth” with divine energy and the atmosphere is charged with the supernatural. I am “seeing” in my spirit, individuals – good individuals, believers going about their lives when suddenly God’s presence floods into them “charging the atmosphere” of their thoughts and words and deeds with the supernatural.

I am believing this morning that someone who is reading this…is sensing a stirring, a swirling in their inner being. They may not even be able to pin point what is happening. It may even feel uncomfortable and fear is rising within… because God is preparing to blow the lid off the normal. Let go…and let God!

Be open…be available…be response-able!
