A Church with a Heart for our Community

June 24th Friday

Greeting in the name of “the Rider On the White Horse”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful Summer morning – thank you God, for beautiful bright sunshine and thank You God, for the blue of the skies and thank You God, for the breeze moving through the branches, swirling among the tall grasses. And thank You God, for giving us our five senses that allow us to experience and enjoy Your creation. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a particular, tangible expression of His presence that you will understand and will be able to respond to.

Yesterday I received an email from a Christian ministry and was challenged by two sentences that captured what I have been sensing in my spirit: “We are in a time of incredible change all over the earth.” – “God wants to give us a greater vision of Himself in the midst of the changes we are facing personally.” – Debbie Przybyski, Intercessors Arise International. I am aware of so much weariness and aching in the heart-mind-soul of Christian people…and it is contagious! However, I am affirming that: “God is up to something big – and He wants to breathe His life into us.” ibid. My response to that is to be ready – when God is on the move, I must be ready to move with Him. He is no ‘sit-still and wring your hands’ God.

We are told several times in Scripture to move forward: “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step [move in rhythm with, keep walking with] the Spirit.” – Galatians 5:25  NIV words in brackets added  … “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in him.” Colossians 2:6 KJV. I sense that there are many Christians that are impatient and discouraged and weary as they focus on the next step in their future, wondering fearfully if they have enough strength for the next season in their spiritual journey. The enemy of the soul is successfully intimidating God’s people, stealing the joy and peace and hope that is available right now.

I have been listening to a new song that reminds me of a promise Jesus made: Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” John 7:38  NIV – “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way, just as the Scripture says.”  John 7:38  The Message. The song I mentioned says: Are you thirsty, are you empty, come and drink these living waters…Tired and broken, peace unspoken, rest beside these living waters – Christ is calling, find refreshing at the cross of living waters…Lay your life down, all the old gone, rise up in these living waters – Spirit moving, mercy washing, healing in these living waters – There our hope is secure, do not fear anymore, praise the Lord of living waters – Living Waters, Ed Cash & Kristyn Getty.

In these times of desperation and tiredness and world-weariness – I need to turn my eyes on a God who is big! I must not let all that is around me distract and distort my vision. I must, again and again allow the Living Waters to re-energize me. I need to surrender to the greatness of who God really is! He is large and in charge! Do I have a witness?

Have a great weekend – be blessed!
