O God, the mighty Commander of Angel Armies, come back and rescue us! Let Your beaming face shine upon us with the sunrise rays of glory, then nothing will ever stop us again! Psalm 80:19 TPT.
Greetings in the name of “he Bright and Morning Star”, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a lovely morning our Father has created for us to enjoy. I am aware that with the good weather – the “to-do list” looms in front of us – yard-work, grass-cutting, gardening, window-washing, spring cleaning of all shapes and sizes, and many other challenges. So today as I pray for you, I will ask Father to fulfill Isaiah 40:29-31 – He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak, even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run [ and weed, trim, cut, rake, clean] and not grow weary, they will walk [pace themselves] and not be faint.
Tomorrow is National Day of Prayer and many believers in over 220 nations will be entering into a “10 days of prayer” adventure leading up to Global Day of Prayer on May 15th – Pentecost Sunday. The theme verse for this year is: Shout it aloud, don’t hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet! Isaiah 58:1a NLT. I think it is important to deliberately set aside a time each day for 10 days and unite with Christ-followers across the world and pray. In another translation we read these words from God: Tell my people what’s wrong with their lives, face my family Jacob with their sins! They’re busy, busy, busy at worship, and love studying all about me. To all appearances they’re a nation of right-living people–law-abiding, God-honoring. Isaiah 58:1b – 2a The Message. It seems that we can have the appearance without the reality…worship without humble prayer, Bible study without seeking His face, and right-living without ever communicating with the One who is in control.
Strange that today in my devotions there is a prayer that seems to fit: Heavenly Father, I must ask myself if I am simply religious or if I have a relationship with You. Help me to see that religion without a relationship leads nowhere. Selwyn Hughes, Every Day With Jesus. I gave you the theme verse, as it relates to America and the theme is: Wake Up, America! We could well change America to Canada or Ontario or your city/community. I think that that is what the first Pentecost did for the first band of Christ-followers…woke them up to the power and presence of God. So prepare yourself tonight to join with thousands of the Christ-followers family world-wide to pray for a “great awakening’! I have given many of you the 10 Day Prayer Guide and that will be good to follow and I will send you the National Day of Prayer – prayer.
Blessings upon you!
