A Church with a Heart for our Community

November 6th Friday

Greetings in the name of ‘The Bread of God’, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! There are some days when it is easier than others to confess: “This is the day that the Lord hath made!” and those are the days when the rest of the verse: “I will be glad and rejoice in it!” are most challenging to declare. Now, that being said,”What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom!” I trust that you have enjoyed your week and saensed God near you…and now you are looking forward to the weekend. Are you getting excited about gathering with your church family to celebrate your faith? Are you going to arrive at the gathering place expecting to encounter the Presence of God and experience His power? Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to prepare you for all that will be available for you at your “gathering place.”

Yesterday I talked of the uniqueness of Jesus Christ…and as I left the office and headed home, God pointed out to me people on the sidewalk and then in a store who needed to experience His love, kindness, grace, and power. As I acknowledged what/who God was showing me, I heard a song in my mind: People need the Lord! by Steve Green. It is not enough to know there is a “Jesus” – people need to experience him

Some of the people God showed me were in need of release from very obvious problems and addictions and purposelessness, yet God suggested that there were people who needed Him to help with some far less obvious, even hidden concerns. “There are some,” said He, “that are not even aware of their need.” I was not sure what He meant at first and remembered that I had prayed for the “spirit of unforgiveness” to be broken in the lives of individuals. There seems to be so many people dealing with broken relationships that need the reconciliation that comes through forgiveness.

One of my thoughts about the issue was that many people holding unto unforgiveness, don’t realize what they are doing to themselves or how it is affecting them. This morning God reminded me of two passages of Scripture which I will simply share with you and let God speak to you, as He did to me…perhaps there is someone you know who needs to break through and He wants you to pray specifically for them. “If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened to me.” Psalm 66:18 NLT — “When you stand to pray, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him. Then your Father in heaven will forgive your sins also. If you do not forgive them their sins, your Father in heaven will not forgive your sins.” Mark 11:25-26 NKJV. In this context, the forgiveness given is as, if not more, beneficial for the forgiver as it is for the forgiven. An added bonus is that the act of forgiveness initiates the process of forgetting. Cool, eh!

Something to think about…have a great weekend!
