Greetings in the name of THE Risen Saviour – Jesus Christ! What a beautiful morning to begin the weekend! I trust that this has been a really positive week for you and your family…and I hope this will be a blessed weekend. Are you looking forward to gathering with your Christian family for a time of worship with lots of singing, personal testimony, prayers, encouragement, and fellowship? I will be praying for you today, asking Father to surprise you with divine interventions and divine appointments.
I have been listening to a new “CD” from a group called – ‘Planetshakers’. The music and songs are ‘brilliant’ but there is one selection that is a live moment of passionate prayer built around the refrain – “Jesus is Lord!” I know that as Christ-followers we make that affirmation very quickly and with a great deal of sincerity…but the ‘live prayer’ highlights that if Jesus is Lord, then He must be allowed to exert his lordship over all the areas of our life – the good, the bad, and the ugly. As I listened to the prayer, the words lingered in my heart…and I knew that God was trying to express a revelatory insight.
Later in a prayer gathering, there was much sharing of situations that family and friends, as well as us personally, were facing. One of the comments that frequently came up was…””but we (they) are believers – made a profession of faith….”. I “heard” God say: “Yes! You have expressed faith in my Son as your Saviour…and that is good and that carried you — for a time. However, you need to go further, deeper – you need more than a Saviour…you need a Lord! You need my Son as the Lord over all the ‘ugly’ parts of your life. You need to move beyond saying that – “God is in control, everything is in God’s hands — you have to believe it, you have to allow me room to exercise my control, put all ‘the stuff’ in my hands and leave it there, and go out into your world and LIVE! Don’t forget…Jesus is more than a crucified Saviour – He is “THE Risen Lord!”
This Sunday is “Back To Church Sunday”…but maybe it needs to be “Back To Jesus as Lord Sunday”…maybe it is time to let God be God – for there is no other God like our God!
Ponder that…enjoy all that God blesses you with this weekend!
