A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 12th Tuesday

Greetings in the name of Jesus, “The Lamb of God” (John 1:29) – THE Crucified and Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom…a little cooler but a good Spring day ahead!  I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday…especially so for the “Mothers” who were celebrated and remembered on Sunday. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to respond to the desires of your heart as you take delight in him as God.

“If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, you’ve experienced God’s greatest miracle:the new birth. Now it’s time to put your life into His hands and experience God’s second greatest miracle:letting Him make you into the person He wants you to be. Jesus can heal bodies and stop storms just by saying a word, for everything in creation obeys Him. But to make your life a miracle, He needs your cooperation. Don’t settle for an ordinary Christian life. Let Jesus make your life a miracle.”  Warren Wiersbe. I read that quote and I am drawn to a verse of scripture:  Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law. – Proverbs 29:18 NIV… If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals they are most blessed. – Proverbs 29:18  The Message. My heart is heavy this morning for those Christians who won’t see what God is doing and wants to do in them and through them.

There is in our world today a pervasive thought that attacks a Christian mind-set saying, “We must not expect too much!” from God. After all science and technology are in control – or – God is okay but he doesn’t get around much anymore, we need to depend on our selves. Did I say that this was in the world today? I meant to say that it still has influence in the world today. Ever since the day that Adam and Eve were first told that God was not relevant, he was too restrictive, and that they could hold their own destiny in their hands – mankind has repeatedly told themselves…”we must not expect too much.”

I was reminded of this “lie” listening to an old church hymn: “When Satan tempts me to despair…” Charles Bancroft, ‘Before the Throne of God I Stand and then I read a quote: “Many, I fear, never see God work for them because they always have a way out — ” Watchman Nee. It is so vital to our wholeness to ‘see God’ in the midst of our daily lives working out his purposes through us and around us. Remember the quoted scripture: If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves. Proverbs 29:18 The Message. God has been working in our lives through salvation …and he is still at work–we need to pay attention, take notice, give him credit, and accept that he has purpose for our lives. I would suggest that we take the thought: “we must not expect too much” and say – I don’t expect too much…but I expect more of what I see God doing and saying is possible!!

Be blessed!
