Greetings in the name of El Shaddai – Almighty God … and Jesus Christ – THE Crucified and Risen Saviour! What a great morning that God has created for us to enjoy! I trust that you had an enjoyable weekend with time for family and friends and yourself as you rested and got caught up and shared worship with your church family. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to overflow your being with joy, peace, and hope.
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV….GOD’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great is your faithfulness! Lamentations 3:22-23 The Message. I can almost hear some of you singing those words right now…and why not?? I am reminded of the perpetual-ness of many of God’s promises and take great comfort in knowing that is who God is. Many of God’s promises to us are conditional on our response…and in the New Testament there are responses that demand an every day aspect, a continuing action on our behalf. It would seem that for us to fully enjoy and experience God’s faithfulness…we have to participate in an every day surrender.
One verse that caught my attention this morning was in a daily devotion: Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again (and keeps on being born again), he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3. The devotion says: Being born again by the Spirit is an unmistakable work of God, as mysterious as the wind and as surprising as God himself. Being born again from above is an enduring, perpetual, and eternal beginning. It provides a freshness all the time in thinking, talking, and living–a continual surprise of the of the life of God. Oswald Chambers, “My Utmost For His Highest.” Imagine for a moment and ponder this – God’s compassions – mercies – love are new every morning and are expressed through the act of experiencing new life every morning through the process of being born again…every morning.
Therefore, I might say that I was “born again” on a Sunday evening in January evening in 1970 … and I was “born again” – afresh on a January morning in 2015 … as the popular expression says: “I’m just saying!”
