A Church with a Heart for our Community

September 5th Friday

I know that Neil Diamond wrote a song about a September morning but it was his experience. This morning as a gusty breeze bends the branches of the trees to its will and the blue sky speaks of God’s quiet strength and the light of the sun gently touches our world – I want to sing a love song to our great Creator. Yet, I know that this morning I must allow myself to yield to the bending presence of God’s Spirit blowing within my soul. So, there are two simple refrains I will sing:

Silently now I wait for Thee – Ready my God, thy will to see – Open my eyes, illumine me – Spirit divine !

Speak, Lord, in the stillness – While I wait on Thee – Hushed my heart to listen – In expectancy…Speak, O blessed Master – In this quiet hour – Let me see Thy face, Lord – Feel Thy touch of power…ForI the words Thou speakest – They are life indeed – Living Bread from heaven – Now my spirit feed…All to Thee is yielded – I am not my own – Blissful, glad surrender – I am Thine alone…Fill me with the knowledge – Of Thy glorious will – All Thine own good pleasure – In my life fulfill.

I have a sense that although you may not know the tune, that God would have you say those words to him this day. I believe and declare that God wants to do a miracle or two in our lives…so, get ready!

Blessings on you!
