“This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!” – Greetings to you in the awesome name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a beautiful summer morning in the Kingdom…I trust that all is well with you. This morning I want to pray that God will watch over you as you go about today’s activities and commitments…may you connect with at least one person that you can encourage and share a smile…may God surprise you with a special something that allows you to smile at his attention to details…may God release healing to you – physically, relationally, emotionally, spiritually.
This morning I want to share three verses of Scripture before letting you read a paragraph from one of the devotional emails that came today.
“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” – Psalm 119:105 (NLT)…”For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, joint and marrow. It exposes our inner most thoughts and desires.” – Hebrews 10:12 (NLT)…”All Scripture (God’s words) is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT).
God has not called us to rush and hurry and hustle through our days. He’s called us to be still, in so many words, in so many Scriptures:
Psalm 23 promises that He will lead us beside still waters and faithfully restore our souls.
Psalm 46:10 implores us to be still and to know that He alone is God.
Exodus 14:14 declares that if we are still, He will fight for us.
1 Samuel 12:16 bids us to stand still so we can see what He’s going to do.
Psalm 37:7 reminds us to be still and wait patiently for Him, even as others seem to be succeeding and moving ahead of us.
Why not take a little tie today and simply “be still” – may you be blessed!
