Greetings to you in the name that has the power to bring salvation or healing or refreshment or release or reconciliation or whatever you need at any moment and anywhere, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! According to my memories of public school…this is the last day of Spring and at the moment the weather is lovely – sunshine, a brisk breeze, and blue skies, but no guarantees for later in the day. I trust that you had a great weekend and Monday, especially “the fathers” and that God blessed you muchly! Personally, I had a surprise visit from one of my sons and his wife…it was good. I will be praying for you and yours day…may God bless you and keep you, may God smile upon you and gift you, may God look you full in the face and make you prosper!”
Yesterday was our Monday noon-hour prayer gathering…yes, still happening and God is still listening – answering -speaking! I know that I have told you before, but every Monday is different according to God’s influence in the lives of the intercessors. God seemed to be directing us to pray for the ministry of the church in our community and for three specific churches – the pastoral leadership, the leadership, the congregation. We continue to pray for the leadership of our community and for the those who serve us…police/fire/ambulance/city work staff.
One of the ingredients of our gathering is the freedom to share what God has been saying to us as individuals…and it is exciting to know that God is active in our community. Many of the intercessors have had opportunity to share words of encouragement with someone and in some cases to pray for someone. I believe from what I heard yesterday and from what I have been hearing that we are in a season of grace and that God is calling the church in our community to draw close to Him.
This morning through one of those hard to describe moments that we call “coincidences” – God lead me to a ministry built around simple poem that is being used to reach people. I think that last week I shared this with you as a song, but it is really the calling card for a ministry . So I thought I would give it to you again, it is called “The Salvation Poem” and was written by Matt & Sherry McPherson.
The Salvation Poem
Jesus You died upon a cross
And rose again to save the lost
Forgive me now of all my sin
Come be my Savior Lord and Friend
Change my life and make it new
And help me Lord to live for You
I believe that they print this on “pass-it-along” business cards that they can give to someone. They have more than a few “good news reports” that they share. I am told that people in this time we are in don’t have the attention span to read more than this and God seems eager to use this simple poem for His divine purposes.
Have a great day…be blessed…know that God is at work in and around you!
