Greetings to you in the powerful, life-changing, joy-releasing name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely late Spring morning in the Kingdom…and isn’t it amazing – “this is the day that the Lord has made for us, so let us rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that you have had a good week so far and are looking forward to the weekend. I believe the Lord has a few surprises coming your way in the next few days… so be prepared.
This morning I have had two songs…well, ‘choruses’ actually, in my thoughts: “This is the day that the Lord hath made” is the first one and I know that I quote that in one form or another in every blog and that is because it is true and relevant every time that I do so. I think that one of God’s favorite words is “today” as He speaks about and acts within the context of “today.”
Sometimes though, “today is the day” is easier to say first thing in the morning than it is at noon hour or in the evening and that is why the other song – “chorus” – comes to mind. The words – “Turn your eyes upon Jesus” are such a good reminder than in the middle of “today” I can focus on Jesus and allow His glory…God’s presence and His grace…enabling strength…to overshadow and subdue “today.” I understand that I cannot let the enemies of “today” get a foothold.
It is always good to be aware of God’s presence…it gives “hope” and energizes. It can even fuel the imagination and stir the soul. I understand that I cannot force God to act and I understand that I don’t understand His timing…and I don’t need to. However, those two musical interludes remind me that God is in “today” and I can trust His lovingkindness and tender mercy.
What do you do in the midst of one of those “today” moments to refocus your thoughts and revive your spirit? Be blessed!
