Greetings to you, child of the Most High God, in the wonder-filled, powerful, and beautiful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely autumn morning in the Kingdom…I am sure that this must be “the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that all is well with you and that you are enjoying these fall-days with the beauty of the season all around us. Today I will be praying for God to touch your body-soul-spirit with his grace and mercy and creativity…may his peace stand guard!
This morning in my devotions I was reminded of the importance of a personal relationship with God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is what inspires, strengthens, and encourages, I found myself pondering a song or two that express what is in my heart. I recall the words…”Jesus, thou art everything to me-all my lasting joys are found in thee…Here I lay me at thy bleeding feet-Deepest homage now I give to thee-Hear thy whispered love within my soul-Jesus thou art everything to me.” – Edward Henry Joy. And then came the words…“In the secret of thy presence-In the hiding of thy power-Let me love thee, let me serve thee-Every consecrated hour.” – Albert Orsborn. And then…”Sitting at the feet of Jesus.” Joseph L. Hall.
I suppose it was a brief paragraph that got me going: “Let yourself be wooed by the Lord’s tender words. He is constantly speaking, continuously drawing you closer. Lean is as He pours His words of affirmation over your spirit and soul. A times, we can get so caught up with making sure activity (praying, reading, singing) fills our prayer time that we forget how important it is to simply enjoy the Lord as He enjoys us. His presence and the way He affirms us is like healing balm to our soul. Let Him refresh you with His love today”. – Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez, ‘The Divine Romance’.
Next, I found myself reading and praying…“Jesus, you have given me all that I need to live in peace, joy, and godliness. I purpose today to focus on your goodness and faithfulness and to not let negative thinking litter my mind. You love me. You will take care of everything. Today is going to be a great day!” – Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez, ‘The Divine Romance’.
Have a blessed day…take a little time to ponder your relationship with God
