A Church with a Heart for our Community

June 3rd Friday

Greetings to you in the Name above all names, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom! and what a delight to declare that “this is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that you have had a good week and have experienced a blessing or two along the way. Now here is something to think about  – “It is Friday, but Sunday is coming!”  and I am excited about “Pentecost Sunday’ and gathering with the church family. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to come alongside you today and meet your needs…may He release a holy expectation, unexplainable peace, and a bubbling spring of joy.

This morning I am imagining what it might have been like in that room as the followers of Jesus were gathering daily to praise and pray and wonder. They have been doing this for the last eight days and I think that perhaps they were a little anxious…but something was happening in and around them that they could not anticipate – the Holy Spirit was coming! and a birth was going to take place…the church! I believe that the point of this ten days of prayer and preparation was designed for the transformation of the individual, as well as the group.

Imagine the miracle of 120 believers being equipped and empowered to implement God’s plan that would reverberate from Sunday morning then to Friday morning now. No wonder we need to pause and remember Pentecost each year…and understand that “Pentecost” still happens every day in a life that is affected by Jesus Christ.- -it is a daily manifestation of miracle power. I want to leave you with that to think about and in doing so here are two verses from a song called – Miracle Power:

I believe in miracle power
In a wonder working God
I am filled with the Holy Spirit
Working wonders in my heart

I belong to a loving Father
I’m a friend of Christ His Son
When it feels like I won’t make it
I call on Jesus

Dear God, I surrender all the big and little things in my life to Your care and control today. Thank You for the strength and hope You give.

Have a blessed day…Sunday’s coming!
