A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 7th Thursday

Greetings to you in the Name above all names. Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a great looking Spring morning…God sure knows how to make a day for us and He is waiting for our response – to rejoice and be glad for what He has done and to enjoy it. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a fresh energy to you…may He hear your laughter and delight…may you receive courage to face the challenges and opportunities that you will encounter…may He create a divine appointment for you…may He be your provider…may He satisfy your spiritual hunger and thirst…may He feel your love for him.

Here is another benefit that comes your way when you ‘praise God’: praising God enlarges your perception of God. As life in this world gets more complicated and the needs of modern man increasingly changes, it seems like our God is too small. Long ago the Psalmist stated: “I will praise the name of God with a song and I will magnify him with thanksgiving.” (Psalm 69:30). I have a sense that we have become more able to handle life and so end up magnifying ourselves and God seems to diminish in our experience.

However, strangely enough as our problems, challenges, and complexities get larger we begin to understand that we need help. It is at this point we need to deliberately and consistently and persistently – praise God. We need to remember who He is and ‘enlarge’ his presence in our lives. We need to sing the songs of faith, We need to sing new songs of our faith in who He is right now. Oddly enough the larger God gets in our lives, the smaller our  problems get. Once again it is the Psalmist who provides a word: The Lord is great and is worthy of our highest praise because His greatness is beyond understanding. (Psalm 145:3). It is not that God cannot help us…we won’t let Him! Praise gives him room to work.

Something to ponder…have a blessed day!
