Greetings in you – as you wait once again to celebrate the One who has already arrived and yet is still to come – in that Name above all names…Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a blustery day in the Kingdom…and yes, it is a day that the Lord has made for us, so let us rejoice and be glad in it and make it a “good day!” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release grace and mercy to you mixed with peace-hope-joy…may his healing, strengthening touch be upon you…and may you sense his leading and guidance.
I can hear the words of a song…”for lo’ the days are hastening on…” as we are making our plans and preparations for Christmas, squeezing every last moment of time into our days. It seems that this Advent season there are more distractions in our world than ever. It is a real challenge to deliberately take opportunities – “to be still and know that He is God.” I am thinking of another song…why not?…”I know that I should, and I would if I could, but I can’t!”
This morning in my devotions God sent me a verse to ponder and I want to share it with you: He is the Bridegroom, and the bride belongs to him. I am the friend of the Bridegroom who stands nearby and listens with great joy to the Bridegroom’s voice. And because of his words my joy is complete and overflows! So it’s necessary for him to increase and for me to be diminished. John 3:29,30 TPT. Although those were the words of John the Baptist…I thought of saying them myself – I am a friend of Jesus, the Bridegroom, and as I draw near and listen-listen-listen…I hear the powerful and gentle voice calling me closer, come a little closer…come and worship…lay your burdens and distractions down…let my peace wash over you…focus on my words…feel my love and acceptance…come closer…let me fill your emptiness, feed your hunger, satisfy your thirst…let joy breakthrough and saturate you…come a little closer…don’t be afraid or anxious…come a little closer!
Be blessed!
