Greetings to you…fellow-adventurer, travelling the advent trail to Bethlehem – in the beautiful, powerful, wonderful name of Jesus Christ -THE Risen Savior! What a beautiful December morning in the Kingdom and what a privilege to proclaim that this is the day that the Lord has made for us and we will rejoice and be glad in it! There will be surprises and challenges and blessings and twists and turns…as well as His “wrap-around presence! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release all the energy, strength, courage, and determination you need to make this a “given day”!
This morning in my devotions, God chose a verse for me to ponder: For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. – Romans 8:18 ESV. Now, to top that off, He directed me to a few words from a song -“Desert Song”: All of my life, in every season-You are still God-I have a reason to sing, I have a reason to worship. – Hillsong.
In doing this, God reminded me that because of the arrival of Jesus we believe that He is Emmanuel – God with us, in this present moment – in the joy and in the sorrow, in the darkness and the light, in the good and in the not-so-good, in the midst of answered prayer and in the midst of ‘not-yet, and especially in those moments when things don’t seem to make sense. God made sure that I understood that He is there in the “now moments” of life…and I can rest in that word of truth. He promises to never leave nor forsake…and every promise He makes is validated by the One who was revealed at Bethlehem.
And if that is true for me then it is true for you…and for those who are near and dear…ponder that throughout this day – blessings!
