Greetings to you on this fine December morning! – may you experience the presence of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! I trust all has been well with you and that God has released specific blessings to you. Today, I will be praying for you, asking Father to let you know in ways that you will understand how He is ‘shepherding’ your life – leading you beside quiet waters, making you lie down in green pastures, guiding you along the right paths, protecting you, satisfying your needs, and pursuing you each day.
Yesterday was our Monday prayer gathering and it was predictably…unpredictable – and very timely. We seem to have been praying a lot for individuals who need healing…physically and emotionally and spiritually…and not seeing many answers. It is a little discouraging…and, truth be told, we haven’t wanted to admit it or talk about it – but yesterday it surfaced. I think that God began to “set us up” in worship time.
We used two new songs that God sent our way. The first song – Healer by the group – Casting Crowns…has these words: More than comfort we need the King-More than the gift we need the Giver-More than the blessings we need Your presence-More than the healing we need the Healer-We don’t need a hero, we need the Healer. The second song – Hurry by Kim Walker Smith…has these words: I don’t want to be in a hurry-I don’t want time to get in the way-I just want to give You the space-To move in this place-I don’t want to be in a hurry-I don’t want to miss what You have to say. Now for whatever reason, God touched those words and allowed them to open our hearts.
I am believing that God wanted us to understand that the ultimate answer to our prayer requests is to experience His presence. We need the Healer and the hope He brings with him into our lives at some of the most vulnerable and painful times, I believe He wanted to remind us that He can’t be…and won’t be…coerced into being in a hurry. Somehow, although there where no miracles visible…there was a miraculous sense of peace and comfort knowing that He was in control.
Just a little something to ponder…be blessed!
