A Church with a Heart for our Community

September 7th – Tuesday

Greetings! Shanah Tovah! – to you who are redeemed, forgiven, and declared righteous in the beautiful. wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom – thank You Lord, for making this day for us…we will rejoice and be glad in it. I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday with good health and the blessing of family-friends-time together. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release health, strength, and a happy heart to you…may He make His presence known to you.

This is Rosh Hashanah – New Year’s Day – on the Jewish calendar and it the beginning of year 5782. Last night at sundown the trumpet – shofar – would sound a lone blast – tekiah – to announce that the King of the World was present. Imagine, if you will, being reminded that Father-Son-Holy Spirit were making their presence known…Creator, Savior, and Counselor.

The next blast would be a three part sound – shevarim – sounding like weeping. It would remind us of the fragility of life and the brokenness of our world and that everything we hold dear in this life could vanish in a moment. Therefore we would cry out to God for wholeness and another year.

Then the trumpet blast would be nine short notes – teruah – that would sound like an alarm, reminding us to wake-up from the routine and ritual of life and see God’s perspective afresh. This would involve introspection and repentance and readjustment, There is a simple question that challenges the people – “where are you?” (Genesis 3:9) and refers to Adam and Eve hiding from God because of sin. The response to the question would be repentance – teshuvah – finding your way back to God’s presence.

Something to ponder – be blessed!
