Greetings to you – loved by the Father, redeemed by the Son, and sealed by the Holy Spirit…in the beautiful name, the wonderful name, the powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What an interesting morning in the Kingdom…rain, sun, blue skies, no sun, clouds. cool temperature – and all in the course of about 150 minutes! However it is still – “the day that the Lord has made and we will be glad and rejoice “in” it!” I trust that you have had a good week with many a blessing to make you smile. Tis morning I will be praying for God’s hand to touch your life and release health, strength, and a happy heart…and may He grant peace beyond your understanding!
This morning I was reading about the “rebuilding” of Jerusalem’s walls under the ministry of Nehemiah. If you know the story, it was a bit of a miracle…completed in just 52 days! Now, one would think that all would be well and that life would be bright…but the people forgot God’s blessing, stopped tithing, started working on the Sabbath, and the community was at odds. Nehemiah, even after “re-building” the walls had to “rebuild” the people.
Here is a quote to consider: It is important for people of faith to remember that our decision to follow God is not a one time act, but rather a lifestyle of continual repentance and recommitment. – Tremper Longman III. So here we are at more “re” words…what a week of “re” words! I am reminded of another favorite quote: The essential thing ‘in heaven and earth’ is that there should be a long obedience in the same direction; there thereby results, and has always resulted in the long run, something which has made life worth living. – Friedrich Nietzche.
I am guessing that my week of “re” – refocus, restore, refresh, renew…etc was to remind me that the best of my walk with Him requires many course corrections…many “re” moments and that I need to embrace them, endure them, enjoy them, and be encouraged by them.
Something to ponder…have a blessed day!
