A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 20th Tuesday

Greetings to you…my fellow followers of “The Way”, in the powerful, beautiful, wonderful, and life-giving name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! Another Spring morning and here we are to declare that – “this is the day that the Lord ahs made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday with many blessings and moments to simply be in God’s presence. This morning I will be praying for you and your family, asking Father to surround you with: His peace that is beyond understanding ; His love that is multi-dimensional ; with His hope that keeps growing ; with His power that is limitless ; with His grace that is ‘amazing’.

Yesterday we met for our Monday prayer gathering and as we typically do entered His presence with a time of worship in music. There is something about re-arranging our thoughts and focus through the lyrics of a song. Generally the flow of worship songs is designed to be like travelling music – starting with a joyful expression of what God has done and is doing, then an awareness of the battles that life has brought our way, then the actions steps we want to take, and then to lead us into an awareness of God being with us.

We followed that format and I believe that there was an acute sense of the desperation in our world…our world is in such a mess right now. Our best response, what we believe to be the best response…was to sing – “We just want to speak the name of Jesus!” The song to take us into God’s throne room was – “Thin Place” from Vineyard music…and it seemed to be the door for God to enter the room as we sang…”This is the place where You meet with us – We love being here with You!”

A “thin place” is when God moves into our reality and the distance between us gets “thin”…and that happened yesterday. It doesn’t happen every week and certainly not often enough! However when it does take place, we can identify with Jacob…”Surely the Lord was in this place and I didn’t know it” – Genesis 28:16. I think Jacob would say as an addendum…”I may not fully understand it but could I have some more of it!”

In my morning devotions I read a challenge that I want to share with you. We are living in a time of doubt and fear and our confidence has been shaken, so: Saturate yourself with His Word. Change the atmosphere around you and change the way you think and feel by agreeing with what He, God, says. Speak it, sing it, declare it, and experience His power in your life. – Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriquez, The Divine Romance.

A few somethings to ponder…Have a good day…Be blessed
