A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 13th Tuesday

Greetings to you…fellow pilgrims, in the wonderful, beautiful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! what a beautiful morning in the Kingdom – surely this is the day that the Lord has made for us and our response is to rejoice in it, being glad, thankful, and at peace! I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday with more than a few moments when you sensed God’s presence and experienced His favor. I am grateful for our Sunday worship and for our Monday prayer gathering…God blessed us with the aroma of His Spirit! This morning I am going to be praying for you, asking Father to surround you with unmistakable evidences of His love, grace, and mercy…may He order your steps…may He bring purpose into your day…may you find joy in His strength.

In my morning devotions there was a good word of encouragement and a challenging reminder – both seemed to fit into this season of lockdown.

First, – if God is your Father, the Son is your Savior, and the Spirit is your indwelling Helper, you have hope no matter what you are facing. Now that means we are sons and daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords…and we we share a family with a Savior who is friend and brother…and we exist as the temple for the Spirit who is alive and well. We must not forget that that is our identity.

Second, we do forget. We suffer from ‘identity amnesia’…this becomes the instigator of fear, doubt, and lack of confidence. This is where loneliness sets in and lack of strength and foolish thinking and feelings of being unloved.

‘Identity amnesia’ is powerful and dangerous because it drains us of our life, our energy because it creates a “Christless Christianity” – we live by rules and traditions and concepts. The reality is not found here! We were promised – the Way, the Truth, and the Life! We were given a relationship with God who would express himself to us as – Father – Son – Holy Spirit. We were promised a new identity…the old one passed away! We are radically new people…and let us not forget it! He has said to us: I’ve called your name. You’re mine!  Isaiah 43:1  The Message.

A little something to think about — be blessed!
