A Church with a Heart for our Community

February 4th Thursday

Greetings you in the beautiful, wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a beautifully designed morning in the Kingdom…how creative of God to use frost to decorate the landscape! Of course He would for – this is the day that the Lord has made and we will notice His handiwork as we rejoice and be glad in this day. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to bend His ear close to you so that He might hear the faintest note of praise and the whisper of your heart cry…may you sense His holy overshadowing…may He be the lifter of your head…may you know the gentle Shepherd’s touch.

Last week a few new songs were released…things are a little slow these days…and one caught my attention. It is performed by Hillsong in Australia and is titled – “Fresh Wind”, a reference to Holy Spirit. The chorus goes like this: We need a fresh wind-The fragrance of heaven-Pour Your Spirit out-Pour Your Spirit out-A holy anointing-The power of Your presence-Pour Your Spirit out-Pour Your Spirit out.

I have been a participant in a prayer group that has been gathering weekly for over fifteen years…except for this covid 19 lockdown time and we have been praying for “fresh wind” each week. We have experienced moments when the ‘wind’ has gently begun to infiltrate our atmosphere. I suppose that is what compels to keep praying – the glimpses of glory and the awareness of the need for a “fresh wind”. For whatever reason, I feel the need to make this a priority in prayer…”fresh wind”, “fragrance of heaven”, “power of His presence”…at this time.

I think of God’s bold declaration that arrived when His people were in great need: If my people, who are called by my name-would humble themselves and seek my face-and turn from their wicked ways-Then I would hear from heaven-and forgive their sin-and heal their land.  —       2 Chronicles 7:14. I wonder if we really understand the significance of those words. Surely the world’s conditions have humbled us…for we don’t have the answers that we need. It behooves us as those who are called by His name to do what we have uniquely been called to do – humble, pray and seek, repent! … “Fresh wind – please!” – “Fragrance of heaven – please!” – “The power of Your presence – please!” …”Pour Your Spirit out!” … “Heal our land!” – “Pour it out! Pour it out!”

Will you join the cry?…have a blessed day!
