A Church with a Heart for our Community

December 23rd Wednesday

Greetings to you in the wonderful, beautiful, and powerful name of Emmanuel, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior, who is “with us” in all of our of our life. Once again – this is the day that the Lord has made for us- we will rejoice and be glad in it and find meaning for all that we will experience. I trust all is well with you as “winter” has officially begun. I know that these are days full of activity as we make all of our preparations for Christmas and the days following. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release the powerful atmosphere of peace, joy, hope, and love into your daily routine bringing unexpected delights and miraculous moments…may He bring health, strength, and His sheltering presence.

What is your favorite Scripture in regards to the birth of Jesus…Matthew or Luke or perhaps John, maybe the reference in Galatians? I must confess that I really enjoy Luke’s insight and turn to it often in Advent. However, there is an account that we don’t often address that is quite challenging, and this year Advent season captures my attention. In Revelation 12, we catch a glimpse not of God silently slipping into our world at Bethlehem but of a decisive and strategic invasion of the kingdom of darkness. Why not take time today to read this account? You will see the ‘dragon’ waiting to destroy the baby and when that cannot happen he – the dragon, turns his attention on humanity.

Take time to ponder … be blessed!
