A Church with a Heart for our Community

December 9th Wednesday

Greeting to you in the mercy-filled, grace-filled, powerful, and transforming name of Jesus Christ  – The Risen Saviour! No matter the weather – this is the day that the Lord has made…and we will rejoice and we will be glad in it. I trust that all is well in your as we navigate these strange and puzzling times. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to remind us that He did not give us a spirit of fear but He released: supernatural strength, empowering love, and a clear, steadfast mind as our gift from Him…may He use you to touch someone else’s life.

This morning I was reminded that we are living in world that for the most part is very unfamiliar to our expectations. In many ways we need to learn how to respond in a very different way, or perhaps in a more aggressive way. It seems that we are living in a time when “hatred” has become the new trend of addressing life. There is so much tension in our world and conflict and selfishness and cruelty and dishonesty. I can recall a statement made by a world leader back in the early 70’s…”the survival of the world hinges upon people learning how to love each other.” If it was true back then, it is even more true today.

Never before has love, compassion, forgiveness, acceptance, and forbearance been needed in our world. These are the weapons that will battle against hatred, violence, violation, and self-centeredness. The message of 1 Corinthians 13 is so needed – faith, hope, and love. Since we know that – God is love, when we call down love into our world we are revealing the heart of God…we are calling down the Kingdom.

If we are going to make an impact on our world we will need a spiritual revival that releases a profound love in our hearts…a sacrificial love. I think of a simple little chorus…Teach me how to love Thee-Teach me how to pray-Teach me how to serve Thee-More and more every day. I believe that through acts of love we can have an impact on our world.

Something to think about…be blessed!
