Greetings to you – loved long before you even knew, through the love found in the wonderful, beautiful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning to introduce us to the day that the Lord has made for us…and what a delight to rejoice and be glad in it! I am wondering if you are experiencing the words of the song…”Lo, the days are hastening on…”, if so then hear the words – “Be still and let God be God!” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to remind you that He is there for you in practical ways…that He can give you strength and wisdom…that He can give you patience…that He can provide insight…and that He knows where everything you are looking for is located…just ask and believe.
I am having a wonderful and challenging time. You may recall that there were a few new Christmas CDs that I purchased. Well, we are starting to listen to them and when there are ‘special’ selections we are trying to locate the lyrics and for the most part there has been success. One in particular has been rather illusive and ended with an email to the artist in Ireland…I am waiting patiently.
One of the things that I have noticed is how many of the new songs are responding to the current atmosphere of disorientation and the quest for finding purpose and meaning. The catch-phrase in one song hopefully says…You brought color into the world. I suppose that the world does seem a little dull and dark. It is a daunting task to keep your heart up and to “Be calm and carry on!”
So I was encouraged when one of the new songs used these words: There’s a frost on the ground-But a fire in my soul-Today everything can change-There’s a flame in my heart-That’ll never grow cold-Today is the Saviour’s Day! I was reminded of the verse in 1 Samuel 30:6, where David was in great distress and with great understanding…encouraged himself in the Lord. It seems that in these days we need to dig deep into our faith and encourage ourselves from our personal history with God…and who knows, we might even be able to encourage someone else, after al the song says…”Today, everything can change!”
Have a blessed day!
