A Church with a Heart for our Community

November 17th Tuesday

Greetings to you…chosen, redeemed, forgiven, empowered…in the beautiful, wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What an interesting day the Lord has made for us – if you don’t like what the weather is doing, just wait fifteen minutes. Oh well, we will rejoice and be glad in it…and make it a good day! I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday with many blessings and divine surprises and missions accomplished. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release to you the blessing of health, strength, and a happy heart…may you have unexplainable peace in your heart today.

There are many people dealing with the struggles of life…health, relationships, isolation, the welfare of loved ones, and coping with life in the age of covid19. It seems whenever we take time to pray…individually or corporately, that we are overwhelmed. This morning as I was reflecting on this challenge, God sent a devotional with an illustration and a simple thought. It was about a woman whose husband gave her a rather extravagant gift in the midst of a very difficult time in their lives. He gave her a pearl necklace and took her out to dinner…along with their children. The story was a little disastrous and humorous, at least as they look back at it.

However, it was this pearl necklace, which the woman holds in her hand whenever life doesn’t seem to make sense. She looks at the pearls and remembers that a pearl is created out of suffering. In fact, as she states…a pearl is symbolic of a healed wound.. She applies that thought to the situation that is surrounding her and understands that God is in the process of adding another “pearl” to her spiritual necklace.

Something to ponder…have a blessed day!
