Greetings to you on this November morning – in the amazing, healing, and grace-filled name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a great da…a little cool and the sun seems to be playing hide-and-seek, but it is still the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I trust that you enjoyed your weekend and Monday – especially that “white-stuff” and many blessings from God! I had the privilege of seeing and hearing about answers to the prayers we have been praying…it is so encouraging! This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to hold you close to himself and to give you peace beyond understanding…may you feel His healing touch in your body…may you hear His voice speaking words of strength…may you hear the sound of His joy expressed in laughter.
This morning I would share another facet of God’s purpose that is revealed as we go through the sufferings that living brings our way. In Scripture we read these comments……All the hardships we passed through crushed us beyond our ability to endure, and we were so completely overwhelmed that we were about to give up entirely. It felt like we had a death sentence written upon our hearts,[and we still feel it to this day]. It has taught us to lose all faith in ourselves and to place all our trust in the God who raises the dead. – 2 Corinthians 18b-9 TPT.
One of God’s purposes in our suffering is to teach us to depend on Him more fully – to be less self-sufficient and more God-sufficient! There are areas of our life that we don’t enjoy asking for help about. I suppose that we don’t want to admit weakness or lack…we like to be self-contained and adequate. Interestingly enough the reason there is more than one human being around was that God knew that it was not good for man to be alone and as our creator He knew that we needed His presence, involvement in our lives. It isn’t until we face life situations that we cannot handle on our own that we begin to understand our need of Him.
The unfortunate aspect of this is we have to keep learning this lesson…over and over and over again. Let’s face it, we will never arrive at a point in time when we don’t need to trust in God’s presence and rely on His strength. So, the next time life gets too difficult – don’t was te time trying to do it on your own…He’s only a prayer away!
Just a little something to think about…be blessed!
