A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 6th Tuesday

Greetings to you – called, chosen, and equipped by Father God in the name of Jesus Christ…THE Risen Saviour ! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom! I trust that you had a blessed weekend and Monday with many unexpected interruptions and discoveries and conversations that made you smile. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release His favour – bring an extra measure of grace and mercy – infuse you with a fresh spirit of  well-being.

Some of you may know that we are in the midst of a Jewish festival week – “Succouth or Feast of Tabernacles.” This is one of the three important feasts called…Pilgrimage Feasts, and it started at sundown October 2nd and goes until sundown October 9th. The feast has a two-fold meaning: the celebration of the harvest and to remember how the Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years as God provided for them, dwelt with them…tabernacled, and how He gave them the security of His presence by means of a pillar of fire/pillar of cloud.

This is one of the feasts we know Jesus attended and used to highlight the significance of his ministry. We read the narrative in John 7 – 8:20 and see…or hear, Jesus reveal His messianic identity…and He stands in the shadow of the great menorah – some 75 feet high, to proclaim that He is the Light of the world…and He points to the Pool of Siloam proclaiming that He is Living Water…which, by the way points towards his Second Coming.

So greetings and Happy Thanksgiving – from the One who lived in the past to provide physical needs, security, hope, and presence; from the One who in present allows us access to living water and to the light that guides, protects, encourages; from the One who promises a future moment when all things are restored, renewed, and re-established.

Have a blessed day!
