A Church with a Heart for our Community

November 6th Thursday

Greetings in the name of the one who is constantly at work in our lives revealing the Father’s glory, Jesus Christ – THE Crucified and Risen Saviour! What a beautiful “gray/grey” morning in the Kingdom! I have a sense that the atmosphere is changing and that there is some precipitation coming. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to reveal his plans and purpose for you –  for the next season.

These are only glimpses of what he does. We can only hear a whisper of him! Who can understand the thunder of his power?  Job 26:14 GWT…And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?  Job 26:14  NIV. These are two translations of a verse that God gave me yesterday. Oddly enough, it was only a month or so ago that God spoke into my spirit and said: “I am God and I dance on the borders of your reality and you don’t even know it.” I have been wrestling with these words and to find a biblical address for them was wonderful. It was early this morning that I received a little insight as to what these meant, to me anyway.

These words from Job are powerful because Job had lost all of his possessions and things he had worked for – his past, he lost his health and place in the community – his present, and he lost his family – his future. So, here is a man without a past, a present, and a future testifying that God is at work at the ‘outer fringes’ of his life, revealing ‘glimpses’ of his activity, with a mere ‘whisper’ of his power like the sound of distant thunder. I. then, thought of that young boy – the prodigal son – who took his past-present-future into a distant country and lost it all. However, in a moment of time heard the whisper of God at the outer fringes of his existence. He came to his senses and responded, arriving home to a totally unexpected reversal.

And then I heard the words of a song written by Annie Johnson Flint a hundred years ago or so: “He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater-He sendeth more strength as our labors increase-To addeth afflictions, He addeth his mercy-To multiplied trials, He multiplies peace…When we have exhausted our store of endurance-When our strength has failed ere the day is half done-When we reach the end of our hoarded resources-Our Father’s full giving is only begun…His love has no limits, his grace has no measure-His power no boundary known unto men-For out of his infinite riches in Jesus-He giveth and giveth and giveth again.” Now, let me pause for a ‘singing break’!

Dear friend, right now – God is at work on the fringes of your situation, you may only be able to see a glimpse of what He is doing, you may only hear a whisper of His voice speaking words of encouragement and affirmation…but the sound of the distant thunder reveals His power being made ready for you!

Be blessed!
