Greetings to you in the beautiful, powerful, and wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! This morning I have a question – if April showers bring mayflowers, what does snowflakes in May bring? Never mind, this is still the day that God has designed and created for us…we will rejoice and be glad in it! I trust that you have had a good week thus far and have made some personal discoveries, experienced a few blessings, and are in good health. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release joy beyond understanding, peace that does not make sense, and a hope that is settled deep within…may God give you grace and mercy!
This morning, God decided to give me a new insight…Starting from scratch, he (God) made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; he’s near. We live and move in him, can’t get away from me. – Acts 17:26-28a The Message. It was that phrase – “For in him we live and move and have our being” – 28a NIV that caught my attention.
Over the last few weeks I have been reading about and pondering the ‘presence of God’ and the implications of wht that means to me. We consider the possibility of walking with God and having Him walking alongside of us and sitting at His feet. However if I follow the logic of that verse…I am inside God…inside His presence! Now think about that for a moment or two…being inside God. As I ponder that thought this morning, I think of the prayer of St. Patrick – Christ with me – Christ within me – Christ behind me – Christ above me – Christ on my left – Christ on my right – Christ before me – Christ beside me.
“In Him we live and move and have our being” – our relationship with God is more intimate and complex, yet simple than I had ever thought. We play hide-and-seek…we run away from Him…we try to find shelter in dark corners – but we cannot get away from the One in whom we live. A small wonder that the more of His presence we seek, the more peace we have. Just to follow a previous thought – “The more I surrender to God, the more of His fullness I know”. God sure knows how to connect the dots!
Just a little something to think about on a Friday in May as we watch the snowflakes – be blessed!
