Greetings to you in the wonderful, beautiful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Happy My 1st! and…Yes! this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I pray that this has been a good week for you and that God has blessed you with daily strength and unexpected delights that have revealed His presence. I believe this is day 50 of stay-at-home…and I am reminded of a Anne Murray song that has a chorus that keeps repeating the phrase – “Sure could use a little good news today!” Of course, the good news for us is that God is in control! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release peace beyond understanding and manifestations of His presence around you.
This morning God has reminded me of a verse that says – Protect me from harm; keep an eye on me like you would a child reflected in the twinkling of your eye. Yes, hide me within the shelter of your embrace, under your outstretched wings. – Psalm 17:8 TPT. Traditionally this is where the Psalmist says that we are the “apple of His eye” and we understand that the eye is protected by the bone that surrounds it. In similar fashion we are surrounded by God’s protection and brought into an intimate relationship. One of the things that this whole stay-at-home experience has given me was the opportunity to get closer to God.
We could translate this verse into a lovely prayer that would go a little like this – Lord, keep me in this place of protection, I am weak. I am vulnerable. I need to know I am in a secure position held by Your strength. And keep me there. Don’t let me go. – Charles Billingsley, Words On Worship. We know very well that we have an enemy and he is sneaking around, looking for victims. Every day we step into an unknown world of potential trouble and tragedy and temptation. What a great delight to know that we are ‘the apple of his eye’ -He has his eye on us.
A little something to ponder – have a blessed day!
