A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 3rd Friday

Greetings to you in the name – the powerful, wonderful, and beautiful name – of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful “94th” day of 2020 – such lovely sunshine and blue skies…so encouraging. I think morning sunshine is a ‘hope-lifter’ even on days that seem to make no sense. However…are you ready…this is the day that the Lord has made and we will must decide…will we praise and will we be glad in it? I trust that you have had a good week and are finding “divine moments” each day when God lets you know that He is there. Today I will be praying for you, asking father to make His presence known to you in a way that you will understand…so, look for Him and respond to Him. Remember when James instructed us to …draw near to God and he will draw near to you – James 4:8 and when the Psalmist said…My heart said, ‘Seek His face”  – Psalm 27:8?  …So look for Him today!

This morning I am thanking God for technology that allows me to participate in a worship night with one of my favourite worship groups and then to listen to a teacher share some spiritual insights in a ‘webinar’ and then spend some time with a family as they had a hymn sing. I thought to myself that this is a modernized version of the early church not gathering in buildings but in homes. Today, thanks to the internet we can ‘meet together’ in and be encouraged. I know it is not perfect but it will work for now.

One of the songs that I listened to was entitled…’When we see Your face’ by Sovereign Grace. A few of the key phrases were…We will all be humbled-When we see Your face = And we will taste Your kindness-When we see Your face = We will be Your bride forever-When we see Your face. It is a hopeful, reflective song…just what I needed to hear. However it was the line about being humbled that caught my attention, as I remembered a verse of Scripture that seems to speak into our world situation and the leaders that are enjoying a unique public platform. The verse is from a world leader who had his position and authority overturned because of his attitude and ignoring of God. He said…Nebuchadnezzar: “…Those who walk in pride He (God) is able to humble.” – Daniel 4:35.

On a different note, in a time of questioning and wondering God decided to encourage me by reminding of a promise He gave to me through a mentor some forty-eight years ago. This time He chose a different translation but the words are even more relevant…I am fully convinced that the One who began this glorious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you and will put his finishing touches to it until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ! – Philippians 1:6  TPT.

Just some ponderings…have a blessed day and bless someone today with a ‘phone visit’
