Greetings to you in the wonderful and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What an amazing morning in the Kingdom – sunshine and blue skies … some days are easier to be thankful for and excited about … and this is one of those days that God has made for us, so let us say “thank-you” and enjoy. I wonder if there is someone you should talk to or phone or text … so that you can encourage them and share your joy? Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release His benefits – forgiveness, healing, redemption, compassion, and satisfaction … so that you are renewed (Psalm 103:1-5).
Yesterday was our “Eat-Talk-Pray” gathering and we took time to pray for every member of our church family and even the concerns of extended family contacts that we were aware of. We were using the ‘harp and bowl’ method – that means we had music and song around us (the harp) as we presented our prayers to God (into the bowl of intercession). At one point, a particular song was being sung that voiced what was on our hearts…it said: Just one touch from the King changes everything. As urgent and crucial and complex as some of the concerns of those we prayed for were and are – this we know…it only takes one touch from King Jesus and He can initiate miracles, interventions, reconciliation, healings, and wonders.
I went home thinking and wondering and anticipating. Then, watching the news … our world is in such a mess – I got a little discouraged and fearful. I thought that if we could somehow transfer our noon hour gathering to dozens of venues around our world – if we could get handfuls of people coming together to intercede…maybe we could get God’s attention.
Then, this morning as the director of music…my lovely wife, starts our day with worship and praise – I was reminded of a song that is often part of our mornings. The song is called – Jesus Is Everywhere by the Gaither Vocal Band. The song simply says: Jesus is everywhere-Jesus is in Manhattan (Toronto, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Syria)-Jesus is in St. Paul (our city, your city, every city-town-village)-He is standing next to us in the noisy Starbucks (Tim Horton’s) line-He is waiting round the corner-Jesus is everywhere. It is really good to know that in spite of my-our fears and concerns and questions…Jesus is everywhere, involved in every country, aware of all situations…andis in control!
Do you remember singing – He’s got the whole world in His hands…the little baby-the leaders of nations-the wars and rumours of war-the crime rate-the injustice-the economy-the political arena … you and me brother/sister-He’s got the whole world in His hands! ? We either believe or we worry-fret-get discouraged.
A little something to think about as you enjoy His blessings!
