Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a grand day in the Kingdom…and a hopeful start to the weekend as well. I trust that you have had a good week and have experienced the goodness of the Lord in a variety of ways. Maybe you could write yourself a little note about two or three special blessings you have received and then on Sunday you will be ready to share some “up-to-the-minute” reports. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release you from any concerns or worries or fears or health issues or problems so that you might enjoy His peace that passes all understanding.
This morning an old chorus appeared in the “in-box’ of my thoughts and I found myself singing it quietly to myself: Never a prayer He will not answer-Never a seeking soul to whom the Lord said nay-Never a sin that his grace cannot cover-Never a burden he cannot roll away. Truth be told, I sang it three or four times…I simply needed to affirm those truths.
At the same time…coincidence??…my morning devotional asked a set of questions. How many sick and diseased people came to Jesus and left afflicted and disappointed? How many times did Jesus actually say that the problem a person had was because God the Father was trying to teach a lesson that would ultimately make him more like Him? To how many diseased people did He try and explain that it just wasn’t God’s timing to be well? How many tormented people did He leave in that condition, saying, “This is the result of their choices. I would set them free if they really wanted to be free”? How many storms did Jesus bless? – Bill Johnson. How would you answer those questions?
Take a one minute ‘pause’ – somewhere in your day and simply – “Be still and know that He ‘was-is-will be’ God and He will be exalted among the nations!” Remember this He is, often, a contradiction in reality to our understanding!
Just a little something to think about as you enjoy the long weekend…don’t forget that tomorrow is National Watermelon Day – take a watermelon to lunch! Oh…and Sunday is National “Friend Day” – and you are a ‘friend of God’! – Be blessed!
