A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 1st Thursday

Happy August 1st – according to my calendar this is “Romance Awareness Month” and “Happiness Happens Month” ! This Saturday is “National Watermelon Day” — exciting news! Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a lovely  mid-summer morning in the Kingdom…and another day creatively put together by God for us…what will be your response be? Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to bless you with health, strength, and a happy heart…may your eyes see the beauty of creation – may your ears hear the sounds of laughter, joy, and whispers of love – may your nose smell all the aromas of summer – may mouth sing songs of encouragement and strength – may your body feel the presence of God in a multitude of ways!

Have you ever had those times when you are trying to ‘pray’ and you keep having distracting thoughts and ideas…I sure have. I know that we have and enemy who will do whatever to minimise the reality of our spiritual life and awareness of God, so I have usually blamed him for causing chaos and distraction in my prayers. Then I learned to keep a notepad handy and to simply write down theses thoughts and reminders – which was a very valuable thing to do.

However let me share another perspective that I have been reading about. It seems that these ideas, thoughts, reminders, and insights are something that are part and parcel of being tuned into the Presence of the Creator. The challenge is to stop blaming the enemy but start thanking God for releasing creativity as He interacts with us, as He speaks to and through us.. Creativity is simply the touch of the Creator upon each part of our lives. I suppose that we have thought too much about “:someone” interfering in our devotional times and less about the fact that God is interacting with us, It does say that His people,,,sheep…hear and respond to his voice.

Something to think about today —  be blessed!
