A Church with a Heart for our Community

June 6th Thursday

Greetings to you in the marvellous name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a promising day is beginning to unfold around us…a little sunshine, a warm breeze, and some blue skies – “a given day!” I trust that these pre-Pentecost days of waiting are blessing you and that you are aware of God’s presence in your day-to-day life. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to encourage you, to bring ‘shalom’ to you, and to release joy-overflowing to you…which will be like a spring ‘tonic’…just what you needed but didn’t know.

I came across a good quote-definition that started the little gray cells firing-up: The reflective life is a life that is attentive, receptive, and responsive to what God is doing in us and around us. It is a life that asks God to reach into our hearts allowing Him to touch us there.  Ken Gire. Now this quote reminded me of a Scripture verse that has been  rolling around in my mind for a few weeks. The verse talks of God’s desire for a relationship with us and it says: “…Let me see your radiant face and hear your sweet voice. How beautiful your eyes in worship and lovely your voice in prayer…”  Song of Songs 2:14  TPT. It seems that as I grow in my spiritual-life or reflective-life these words that express a desire from God’s heart to mine are important to me. It is so important for us to know that God truly loves us.

I have witnessed the power of the simple words of a song – Jesus loves me this I know! For the Bible tells me so! … and can recall the moments when those words changed the direction of my life. Imagine this, God wants to see us and hear us…perhaps even as much as we want to see and hear Him! How many times have we found ourselves wondering does God really love me and care for me? am I really important to Him? One of the challenges of having a reflective mindset is found in this admission: I know that I will not be satisfied with just hearing an answer. I’ll immediately think about a deeper meaning. I will always, always, always ponder the what-ifs and do-you-supposes of each and every situation of life.  Beth Lopez.

This morning as I was ‘pondering’ this I heard a song that was new to me and I thought that it was a great response from my heart to God’s. The chorus of the song goes like this: I have only one desire-Just to dwell in your presence-There in the courts of your temple-Worship you all of my days-Into your arms I will run-Hungry, contrite, and broken-Knowing that grace has been spoken-Over my prodigal heart — Robin Mark.

Just a little something for you to ponder – may God bless your day!
